Advent 2025: 17 December

Today features photographs from an album compiled by May, Countess of Limerick from The Limerick Papers. The album contains black and white photographs, mainly of people and of country houses in Ireland and the UK, sketches (some in colour), postcards, letterheads, and autographs collected during house parties.

A new exhibition ‘Limerick Legacies: The Earls of Limerick’ at the University of Limerick delves into the rich and multifaceted history of the Pery family, Earls of Limerick. The exhibition highlights several notable items from the Limerick Papers, a rich archival collection spanning nearly 500 years.

The launch of the exhibition marks a significant milestone in the stewardship of the Limerick Papers: the collection is now fully catalogued, digitised, and openly accessible worldwide via the Glucksman Library’s Digital Library and Archival Catalogue.
