The following three sources that were assigned by the Special Collections and Archive are a part of the Armstrong Collection (collection no. P6/), a collection of documents that relate to the Anglo-Irish Armstrong family of Moyaliffe, Co. Tipperary. The collection, which dates to the seventeenth century, hosts a wide and varied number of different sources, from letters, accounts, diaries photographs etc. that allow us to trace this family’s history all the way up to the twentieth century. The three documents share a common them; they deal with the death of the male heir to the Moyaliffe castle, William Maurice ‘Pat’ Armstrong (1889-1917).
