Owned by Isaac Basier (1607—1676), a French-born cleric who became royal chaplain to Charles I in 1641, Homilia Æthiopica de Nativitate Domini Nostri Jesu Christi (Leiden, 1660) is a bilingual sermon on the nativity which, in Ethiopic and Latin, reflects the breadth of languages encountered during his proselytising travels.
