Don’t forget the bees!
In considering sustainability, we of course cannot forget the importance of bees! Earlier this year, the UL Apiary, UL Environmental Committee and Burren Beekeeping Association ran an 8-week beginner’s beekeeping course, to aid the development of apiaries across Limerick and Clare.
This image, taken from ‘The Compleat Library’, in the Bolton Library, printed in London in June 1692, shows a beautiful image of pollinating bees, with the quote:
‘All plants yield honey as you see
To the Industrious Chymick Bee’
