On the 7th of October 2025 at 6.30pm in the Shannon Library, Dr Kirsten Mulrennan will present on the Shannon Development Photographic Archive.
The exhibition ‘Developing Shannon: Exposing Narratives from Negatives’ forms part of Clare Libraries History Week programme. On loan from the Glucksman Library, it showcases the Shannon Development Photographic Collection, donated by the Shannon Airport Group in 2014. Through striking images and informative panels, it captures the transformation of the Shannon region from its rural roots to a hub of industry and tourism and offers a vivid glimpse into Irish life and fashion in the latter half of the 20th century.
Dr. Kirsten Mulrennan will highlight the Wellcome Trust-funded project to digitise the Shannon Development Photographic Archive.
