We are delighted to launch our 2025 Advent Calendar. This year, we will be bringing you a curated selection of archival fashion from the Special Collections and Archives Department at UL Library. From the dramatic dress shapes of the early 19th century to the swinging sixties, we hope you enjoy this fashionable journey.
To begin, we have a colour portrait of Rosemarie Cockayne in a large pink tulle hat, white dress, and white gloves, glancing sideways and smiling. The image probably dates from her time as a fashion model to fund her art studies!
